It's been a while...

So, on the political scene we've seen for the first time a serious debate on the issue of gay marriage. I predicted years ago, that this would not become a reality in Australia until other more advanced countries have first taken steps to initiate marriage equality. I was right. We now have an ever growing list of western countries who are beginning to realise the true meaning of being a secular society, and that legal marriage is indeed a civil institution, not a religous one.

And thus, as logic begins to take precedence around the world on this issue, Australia is beginning to play 'catch up' (once again), and the momentum toward marriage equality is finally gaining traction, giving hope to millions of GLBT Australians that full equality is within grasp.

The cries of the religous, the social conservatives and the views of (some) of the older Australians are beginning to dwindle. The arguements they put forward are fundamentally flawed, when one delves below the poorly founded arguements they have, we can clearly see they are filled with hate and prejudice, not reason.

My stance on the issue? Of course, there is no valid reason why marriage equality should even be an issue. The Government has no place to dictate which gender I may marry, just as it has no place to dictate whether I marry at all. This issue is not one of ideology, but justice and fairness, and thus It should not be treated so lightly as to be left to a group of overpaid politicians with vested interests to argue and legislate, with their often religous financially and morally influenced policies and beliefs.

However, I also believe that there are a growing number of homosexuals out there who simply wish to conform to the heterosexual strereotypes, as Brian Kinney from Queer as Folk would call "Stepford Fags". As the choice as to whether to have that document as a symbolic reference to ones relationship should be available to all, I simply do not wish to be with someone because a piece of paper legally binds us together, rather I will be with someone because we both want to be together. Our will and desire to be together would keep us together, not a legally binding piece of paper. Should that will and desire fade over time, so be it.

Also, as marriage is obviously a very serious (non-religous) institution, many gay couples upon the granting of equal marriage rights, will 'tie the knot' out of pure novelty, of course this is not limited to gay couples. The issues that plague heterosexual relationships do not discriminate on the basis of sexuality.

The anti-propaganda...

The German Fuhrer from 1933 - 1945, Adolf Hitler, and the Nazi party, did many great things for the German people, and Germany as a whole - which set a standard for many nations to follow.

Such examples of thing, along with great traits of Hitler, and some of his remarkable achievements include;

- Between 1933 and 1939, the marriage rate had increased by 9.2%

-Hitler turned around an economy

- Hitler set up a health insurance scheme for all Germans that only cost 10 cents per person per day that would fund the whole health sector. People paid for what they used, hence no one could complain about unfair taxes.

- Nazi Germany was one of the only countries not to deny women the right to vote during war time

- Hitler enacted the first laws to protect animals from cruelty which afforded them protection in line with what humans received, this law existed till the late 1970's till it was renamed in an effort
to de-Nazify Germany

- Nazi Germany provided unlimited money towards an alternative fuel source other than oil by investing in synthetic petrol and electric power generation

- Hitler also invested in anti-gravity theories.

- Hitler invested heavily into rocket technology, the A-10 rocket was used as the basis for the launch of
the Sputnic satellite after WW2

- Outlawed medical experimentation on animals.

- He undertook a war against the Communist horde that no major power in the world would do, or has done yet by the way.

- He put the power of the state in the hands of an all German state instead of the Jews.

- His Nazi party was one of the first to start a war on cancer.

- Under his leadership the first blood tests were given to drivers that were under the influence of Alcohol.

- The party, under Hitler's command, encouraged family morals, motherhood, fatherhood, respect and honor.

- Hitler was actually a believer in women's rights and wanted to help abused and disenfranchised women. Hence the motherhood programs came into place.

- He was an environmentalist seeking to protect nature clean air, water.

- Brave and decorated soldier of WW1

- Artist, lover of the Arts, both Classical music and Architecture.

- He envisioned the Autobahn and Volkswagen.

- Gave the German workers the first May Day.

- Under "Strength Through Joy" gave paid vacation trips to workers.

It is also worthy to note, that Nazi government funded German scientists during WWII developed the first Jet Engine, the first guided missile/rocker...these technologies and the scientists who created them were stolen by the invading Americans (from the West) and loathed Russians (from the East). These technoligies such as commercial jet planes which we enjoy todaym and of course the rocket technology that led to man setting foot on the moon, are thanks to the Third Reich.

Every prediction you made in Mein Kampf about the jews has become a reality in following years and decades.

So, I say proudly - long live Hitler! Your legacy will outlive the Jewish censorship and propaganda, for curious minds will search beyond this and find the truth about you, a noble man with vision. Visionaries like Hitler only come along once every few generations. You made a great difference to the world as we know it today, unfortunatley - further progress must be made, and it will be.

You've come a long way, baby.

Virginia Slims: 1997 advert from the U.S.  This cigarette brand only marketed to woman, conveying feminism and equality.

So, Australia finally catches up to the rest of the developed world (bar the US), we now have a female Prime Minister. Regardless of political persuasion, What fantastic news! An inspiring day for both men and women of Australia, that the only thing stopping you from achieving what you want, if your own lack of motivation and vision.

I never much liked Kevin Rudd's leadership, and those who know me will be aware that I certainly don't like the Labor party and their way of thinking. Despite this, I feel compasison toward Kevin and the way he was, in a sense, stabbed in the back by his own colleagues and party faithful. A party strongly influenced by bog ol' union heavyweights - as is evident by the events of the last 24 hours, who wanted Rudd out (for many reasons). There is much about Kevin Rudd I don't like - but politics aside, I wish him all the best as his intentions were misguided, but he was certainly a good person with well meaning intentions.

So - in a sense, it was both a sad and great day for Australia. We saw backstabbing and deciet, yet we saw Australia take a leap out of the dark ages of sexism and show that we can join the likes of Britain, Germany, NZ, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and many other countries in having a female take the top job. Lets see lots more women taking the helm in future! I'm quite sick of middle-aged over-educated males, and a woman's touch can never go astray.

So, Julia - a fantastic Australian woman, with flare, compassion, courage and political experience. Labor doesn't have my vote...but you certainly have my blessing nontheless.

You go girl!

Happy Australia Day

I for one will be enjoying my day by probably heading to the movies, down to the beach and enjoy some of the great things my country has to offer, things we usually take for granted - until one travels atleast.

I say to you; fly your flags as you please, as we're free to do so, be proud of the strong country we live in and let those who threaten our way and quality of life know they won't succeed.

Those who label you "bogan", "hooligan" or anything else, are nothing but politically correct leftists, who's agenda to take away out nation's culture, the Australian spirit of freedom and egalitatianism shall never succeed.

Patiotism is not racist either. The word "racist" is thrown around far too much lately. Perhaps time to look in a dictionary?

The progressive party?

Many like to label the Labor party as being perhaps more 'progressive' than the other major party, though I personally see little difference. Neither likes to put into place radical measures in fear of pissing off the voters or the tabloids for that matter.

More to the point, thankyou to the 'progressive' WA Labor party and it's leader Eric Ripper for once again, halting progression in WA and voting against any retail trading past 7pm. I really do enjoy having to rush from work, walk over to a department store down the street the size of a small suburb and have 15 minutes left to find and purchase three items which I require.

Fuck you, your efforts have secured you atleast another term in the political wilderness.
Thankyou Mr Barnett for atleast trying...
